Jeremy Prokosch, a producer lacking appreciation for art cinema, is dissatisfied with his director's vision. He enlists the renowned Fritz Lang to helm a film adaptation of "The Odyssey." However, as it becomes clear that Lang’s approach may lead to a commercial failure, Prokosch recruits a screenwriter to invigorate the screenplay. Tensions rise as the professional collaboration begins to strain the writer's relationship with his wife, intertwining their personal lives with the chaos of the film industry.
