John Friedrich (born March 15, 1958, in California) is an esteemed American actor known for his captivating performances during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He gained significant recognition for his role as Joey Capra in the 1979 film *The Wanderers*, directed by Philip Kaufman and adapted from Richard Price's novel. Friedrich's television presence was notable during this era; he made guest appearances on popular series such as *Baretta* and *The Streets of San Francisco*. One of his memorable roles was in the John Travolta telefilm *The Boy in the Plastic Bubble*.

In 1984, he starred as Marshall Weatherly in the *The Paper Chase* episode titled "Not Prince Hamlet." Friedrich's filmography includes a performance in the disco film *Thank God It's Friday* (1978) and a compelling portrayal of a gay convict named "Squeeze" in the prison drama *Fast-Walking* (1982) alongside James Woods.
