Predrag Laković

Predrag Laković, born on March 28, 1929, in Skopje, was a distinguished figure in the world of theater. He completed his secondary education in Peć before pursuing his passion for acting at the Academy of Theater Arts, where he studied alongside notable contemporaries such as Oliver Marković and Vlasta Velisavljević. He graduated in 1952 under the guidance of Professor Mate Milosević.

Laković further honed his craft in Paris, studying pantomime with renowned artists Marcel Marceau and Jacques Lecoq, which greatly influenced his artistic style. He began his professional journey at the Belgrade Drama Theater, where he became known for his poignant portrayals of marginalized characters, often depicting melancholic recluses and bohemian spirits. His ability to capture the essence of ordinary lives resonated deeply with audiences.

Throughout his career, Laković earned significant acclaim, culminating in his receipt of the prestigious October Award from the City of Belgrade in 1987, recognizing his contributions to the performing arts. His legacy continues to inspire future generations of actors and theater enthusiasts, marking him as an essential figure in the cultural landscape of Yugoslav theater.
